Here are some photos of Playa de las
Americas in Tenerife
which were submitted by John. A big thanks to John for submitting
his Playa de las Americas photos! - here is John's Playa de
las Americas review:
Accommodation name: Club Oro Blanco
Resort rating: 10
Accommodation rating: 9
Number in party: Six - ages 38, 38, 19, 16, 14 & 12
The Oro Blanco is
situated very close to the nightlife of Playa de las Americas, about 5
mins from Veronicas and 7-8 mins from The Patch. The weather in Tenerife
was ideal as it didn't really get too hot and was perfect sunbathing
temperature all the time we were there, although the sun is VERY strong
and a high factor suncream is a must.
Las Americas is a
very lively resort which is perfect for my familly but may not suit all,
the P.R.s can be a bit of a pain at times but if you say no they usually
respect that. The looky-looky men are always good for a laugh and will
try everything to get you to part with your cash, including giving you
something "for free" then asking for a little bit of money for a drink!
- just smile and walk away. The bars we liked were Leonardos (Wild Boyz
- entertainment every night), Bonkers, Blaydon Races (Roxy Risque is a fab
drag act), Royal Oak 2, Yesteryears (Karaoke bar, but so much more),
Jacks Bar (Coyote Ugly-ish), Sound of Cream and Tramps.
For
food, Aberdeen
Steakhouse - (all over Playa de las Americas) nice, but overpriced - even
tried to charge for bread we didn't ask for. Giddy Goose - excellent
food at a very good price. The Orange Tree Diner (The Patch) - three course dinner
including fillet steak for 14.99. Linares III - very good value and
fabulous food - 8.99 for three courses. The Tavern - outside the Oro
Blanco - very handy and decent grub. The Bus Stop/The Royal Oak 2 - just
down the road, use the same kitchen - limited choice but very good value
and very good food. Coconut Joe's - on the way to Los Cristianos - good
food, good price and excellent service. The Royal Garden - on the sea
front at Veronicas - probably the best meal we had; food was almost
perfect, the service was excellent, the price was reasonable and the
setting was as good as it could be. Snappy's - next to Wigan Pier near
Starcos serves the best food with huge portions and very good price -
went back a few times.
All in all I really
like Playa de Las Americas and we enjoyed our holiday so much we are
going back to Tenerife next year. Would recommend it to anyone.
