Seattle, Washington photos

Here are some photos of Seattle in Washington that were submitted by Adam. A big thanks to Adam for submitting these Seattle photos. Here is Adam's review of Seattle:

I only got to spend a couple of days in Seattle, so I must say that I did not get a chance to do too much. I am told there are some very nice beaches, and plenty of tourist attractions, like the Woodland Zoo Park and the Seattle Aquarium, but I’m afraid I can’t comment on them. What we did have time to squeeze in was the nightlife, which was more like British nightlife than any other American city I have visited – plenty of pubs, bars and nightclubs, all very full. The atmosphere on a night was more like the pub crawl atmosphere we are used to, rather than the more laid back ‘lounge bar’ culture which seems to be present in other American and Canadian cities. The locals are very warm and friendly, and tend to love us Brits!

The tourist attractions we did manage to see were very enjoyable. The Space Needle was once the tallest building in America, although it’s now down to about the 7th. However, it still takes ages to get to the top, but it’s worth it, as the views of the city and the harbour are very impressive. Nearby is The Music Project, which is an exhibition will I can guarantee will offer something for fans of any type of popular music, although it’s main concerns itself with local musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. Both of these tourist attractions are well worth the visit and are easily accessible from the city centre, just a short journey by monorail.

If you are considering something a little less hectic, Seattle has a nice relaxed atmosphere during the day, with plenty of restaurants and coffee houses. As well as being the home of TV’s Frasier, Seattle is well known for hosting the film ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ (obviously), and Pike Place Market is famous for some key scenes in the film. Every Sunday the market is full of people sampling some very interesting foods – from seafood to meats, fruits to cakes, and everything in between. Another part of the city which is well worth checking out.
