Although told this would be an expensive holiday it didn't turn out to be. The resort of Perissa is not a very busy one, but ideal for us. Prices about the same as everywhere else in Greece. Thira town, Santorini's capital was of course a bit more expensive, but well worth the visit. Local bus service took 20 minutes. Volcano looks stunning. Oia on the northern tip not to be missed for the sunset. The beach in Perissa was black sand and hard on the feet and the sea had a strong pull, so no good for small children, but our pool was fantastic so didn't bother us. Plenty of good restaurants. Not many bars for drinks only. Would definitely go back. |
