Although the famous falls are very nice, and well worth a visit, Niagara has to rank as the worst part of North America I have visited (although I am sure there are worse places!). The town centre is the tackiest I have ever seen, totally lacking in any individuality or character (think Blackpool at its worst, but on a Las Vegas scale). It is no coincidence that the only pictures in took in Niagara were of the falls. All I can say is that if you do want to see the falls, stay in the nearby area of Niagara-On-The-Lake, which I hear is far more pleasant, although a lot quieter (believe me, Niagara is not a good kind of noisy).
