Here are some photos of Malia in Crete. These were taken in October 2004. We stayed in the Vergina Apartments (by the way that's pronounced ver-gee-na, to save any potentially embarrassing mistakes!). This page has photos of Malia beach, photos of Malia beach road, photos of Malia bars and photos and review of the Vergina Apartments.

We really enjoyed Malia, there is certainly plenty to do. Malia has a hectic nightlife and has a really good friendly atmosphere. We went in October and is was much quieter than is summer months. The weather was fantastic, it was still in the late 80's! - Crete is a beautiful place, take a look at the second last photo - this is the view from the pool at the Vergina Apartments - it doesn't get much better than that! There are some great bars, our favourites were the Loft, Cheeky's Bar and the Malibu Club (which has a parrot wandering about on the bar!). The beach is superb, one of the best I've seen. The main strip in Malia is called Beach Road and is probably best suited to younger people during the peak season, although there are quieter bars too which couples and families may prefer. For food, a must is the Red Lion - they do those huge yorkshire puddings, filled with mash, veg and gravy and the portions were massive! - I've got a good appetite (probably a bit too good) and I couldn't finish it, although it wasn't for the want of trying!
