Here are some photos of Albufeira in Portugal which were submitted by Tony. A big thanks to Tony for submitting these Albufeira photos. Here is Tony's review of Albufeira. Located in the centre of the Algarve’s coastline in Portugal’s southern most region, Albufeira is the seat of the country and is around a 1 hour transfer from the main airport in Faro. The resort is split really into the ‘old’ & ‘new’ town which are about 3 miles apart; but with the good bus links, access to both is easy. Another novel way to get between the two is the motorised train which runs all day every 15 minutes (see pic 8) The old town runs down to the old fishing port which has an excellent sandy beach and rocky alcoves. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants which are located all along the sea front with fresh fish a speciality. In the main square, entertainers perform all day and night, with open air concerts on at the weekends. The old town also has a large array of traditional shops. Night time is spent in the many of the local bars. The new town is really just one long road (The Strip) where all bars and restaurants are located. You may find this area less traditional shall we say, compared to the old town, but it is good for a change, with all of latest chart sounds played until the early hours.
